Dr. Edward Vasarhelyi

Dr. Edward (Ted) Vasarhelyi is a Professor in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Head of Arthroplasty at University Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Vasarhelyi completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, followed by a Master of Science at the University of Waterloo. He then completed his Medical Degree, Orthopaedic Surgery Residency and a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma and Post-Traumatic Reconstruction at Queen’s University in Kingston. Dr. Vasarhelyi came to the University of Western Ontario in 2011 where he completed a Fellowship in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction.
Dr. Vasarhelyi's clinical practice includes primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty. His research interests include a wide range of clinical issues surrounding hip and knee replacements, with particular interests in musculoskeletal infections, healthcare economics and enabling technologies. In addition to clinical teaching, he is actively involved in supervising Graduate Students as part of the MSc in Surgery program. He has co-authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications and is a member of The Hip Society and The Knee Society.
