MSK Bone Health Summit

Identifying outcome measures and pooling resources to better understand bone health across the lifespan

The BJI Grand Challenge - Bone Health Through the Lifespan is planning a national summit to explore the development of a platform that would integrate bone health outcome measures to capture bone health across the lifespan.  These innovations will combine physical function, imaging, and biomarker data across disciplines and institutions, offering new insights into bone quality and quantity over the life course. This initiative will support early identification and prevention of bone and joint disease by shifting from fragmented research to cohesive, interdisciplinary collaboration.

Team Members

This project brings together clinicians, scientists, and patient partners from Western, St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Lawson Research Institute, Universities of Toronto and Waterloo as well as the broader the community.

Outcome Measures

Over the long-term we propose an integrated approach to understanding bone quality and quantity by leveraging the expertise and work that is already being done by top bone researchers across Canada.

Bone Health Summit Program

This exciting gathering will help to move Bone Health toward establishing a more integrative and interdisciplinary research platform including data across the lifespan and incorporating lifestyle, demographic, diet and other factors.
